Job Description

Are you cool under pressure, detail-oriented, and energized by the fast pace of the operating room? At University Health, we’re seeking a skilled and adaptable Surgical Technologist who thrives in high-stakes environments and is passionate about delivering exceptional surgical care.

If you’re ready to play a critical role in life-changing procedures, this is your opportunity to make an impact.

🏥 About the Role

As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll be an essential part of the surgical team—preparing instruments and equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, and anticipating the surgeon’s needs in real time. You'll scrub in on a wide range of procedures, from routine to complex, and bring a calm, confident presence to the operating room.

This role is hands-on, fast-moving, and deeply rewarding.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, prep, and maintain surgical instruments and supplies

  • Uphold strict adherence to surgical asepsis and infection control practices

  • Anticipate and respond to the surgeon’s needs during procedures

  • Stay alert to patient condition changes and adapt quickly

  • Ensure every patient encounter is guided by safety, precision, and compassion

What You’ll Need

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (CAAHEP-accredited)

  • Current BLS certification (must be maintained)

  • Physical ability to:

    • Stand for extended periods

    • Wear 10 lb. lead aprons during imaging procedures

    • Lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 125 lbs.

    • Frequently lift 1–25 lb. sterile trays throughout the day

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Adaptability in high-pressure, rapidly changing surgical environments

  • Excellent time management and the ability to work independently

💡 Why Choose University Health?

At University Health, we’re not just performing procedures—we’re saving lives, advancing technology, and building teams that thrive under pressure. You’ll be supported by colleagues who are committed, experienced, and ready to collaborate. In return, you’ll gain continuous growth, high-impact work, and the pride of knowing you’re helping change lives every day.

🩺 Be the calm in the storm. Be the hands that help heal. Be part of something bigger.
