Job Description
At Syngenta, we are building the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers around the globe and a sustainable future. We are seeking a Pipeline Performance Analyst with a passion for utilizing their statistical and applied mathematical skills for providing key insights to our product development pipelines. In this role you will work within a multidisciplinary global team for the monitoring, analysis and reporting of business performance to support strategic prioritization and continuous improvement. As a pipeline performance analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the coordination and sustained management of metrics and key performance indicators (KPI’s) for tracking the performance of our Seeds Development programs across the globe.
You will work collaboratively across multiple functions with the Biostatistics team, Data and Visualization, Pipeline Performance and key business stakeholders to enable best in class insights and informed decision making. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate strong analytical & biostatistical skills, business connectivity, collaboration and strong communication.

Qualifications
The candidate serves as hands-on expert and will collaborate with team members and R&D domains to measure and monitor our development pipelines and deliver insights to our seeds development portfolios. The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, critical thinking and a desire to learn and understand Seeds Development activities; including business process, associated data and business risk factors.
Accountabilities
- Perform proper statistical analyses for calculating estimated and realized performance indicators
- Model complex problems, discover insights, and identify opportunities through the use of statistics, applied mathematics, and visualization techniques
- Provide fit-for-purpose statistical and analytical support; efficiently process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for model development and analyses
- Identify data needs and provide recommendations
- Build definition of key-performance-indicators (KPIs) and core metrics for Seeds Development to ensure alignment with the Process Architecture Framework principles and Seeds Development strategic direction.
- Collaborate on the management, analysis, tracking and reporting of KPIs, Metrics, and Enterprise risks to ensure alignment with Business Plan Reporting and Business Review requirements
- Learn and understand the Seeds Development pipeline and operations, associated data, key decisions to monitor and the key performance indicators critical to business value and outcomes
- Align process documentation, performance tracking, and risk management with the Seeds Development Business and Stakeholders
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Masters with equivalent experience in applied mathematics, statistics, biometrics, data science or related quantitative field
- 2+ years of experience in statistical methods applied to the design and analysis of generated data sets; including programming, multivariate statistics, probability, and spatial statistics
- Expertise in statistics, data wrangling, mining, and modelling
- Technical understanding of plant breeding and environmental trialing
- Experience using a programming language (Python) or a statistical computer language (R, Python, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
- Experience with visualization and rapid prototyping tools (e.g. R Shiny, Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience effectively collaborating across science disciplines, Information Technology and Engineering to deliver scalable, end-to-end solution
- Experience providing insights, conclusions and recommendations based on data analyses
