About the role
This is a remote position.
The Database/System Administrator manages and administers the MLFF system, ensuring consistency with MLFF System requirements and the quality and security standards. The Database/System Administrator participates in defining and implementing the MLFF system chosen databases and software packages. Administration • Defines the database implementation approach. • Coordinates the creation of the databases in conjunction with the relevant system administrators and project managers. • Implements database management solutions and then adapts, administers, and maintains them to meet and exceed the availability and performance requirements of the MLFF system. • Coordinates with the Database Analyst the setup and management of data servers (administration, automation, procedural development, security, and access authorization, optimization of data processing and queries, etc.). • Develops and implements data administration policies, standards, and models. • Documents data requirements, data collection, and administration policy, data access rules, and security • Develop policies and procedures for network and/or Internet database access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data. • As required, create specific tools to support the operation of the MLFF system. Operations • Ensure database integrity through hardware security measures (backup procedures, data recovery, logging, post- incident restarts) and electronic information security (confidentiality, access control). • Implement and manage monitoring tools to oversee database performance. • Configure database parameters to optimize performance and resource utilization.Requirements
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. • 3-5 years of proven experience in database management and administration. • Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, MySQL , and other database management systems. • Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery solutions. • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. • Certified Database Administrator (CDBA) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus. Skills: • Database Management Systems (DBMS) : SQL, Oracle, MySQL . • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux . • Scripting Languages: Python, Shell scripting . • Monitoring Tools • Backup and Recovery Solutions • Security: Data encryption, access controls, firewall configuration .Benefits
