Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal / Sr. Principal Cyber Software Engineer – 13024-1. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel program.

This Cyber Software Engineer will support multiple software scrum teams by analyzing software to ensure it is free from weaknesses and vulnerabilities, either intentionally

designed into the software or accidentally inserted at any time during its life cycle, and that the software functions as intended by the purchaser or user. Additionally, this engineer

will work with development teams to aggregate Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) related to software security and supply chain risk. This is a technical role that requires

software engineering experience.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Principal Cyber Software Engineer: 05 Years with Bachelor’s in related field of study, 03 Years with Masters, 01 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.

  • Sr. Principal Cyber Software Engineer: 08 Years with Bachelor’s in related field of study, 06 Years with Masters, 04 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.

  • US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance - a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.

  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)

  • 2+ years experience software development (e.g., C, C++, JavaScript, Typescript, Python, C#)

  • DoD 8570 IAT II or Higher (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE) within 6 months of hire

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Familiar with MITRE Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) and Common Vulnerability Enumeration (CVE)

  • Familiar with software quality and security analysis using SAST, DAST, and composition analysis.

  • Familiar with DoD Instruction 5000.02 (2020), NIST SP 800-218 SSDF, and EO 14028 (2021)

  • Familiar with Source code management (git, bitbucket, Gitlab)

  • Familiar with compilers and ILRs

  • Current ISC2 CSSLP holder

Salary Range: $115,800.00 - $173,800.00Salary Range 2: $144,200.00 - $216,400.00
