About the role

The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Lab Technician / Pump, Tubing to optimize our Avantor Fluid Handling organization.

This Barrington, IL based role is full-time, on-site.

Minimum Education:

  • Associate degree

Required Experience (Three + years)

•          In a lab environment

•          Preparing test plans and related data sheets, graphs and charts.

•          Writing detailed test reports and test results memos relating to individual tests

•          With test equipment such as pumps of any kind, scales, flow meters, and / or data loggers

•          Exemplary communication skills, both in written and verbal communications to all organization members.

•          Knowledge of chemistry

•          Collaboration tools (IE Microsoft Office)

Preferred Experience:

•          Recording flow measurements of tubing within a peristaltic pump, via flow sensors or gravimetrically

•          Advising the team when testing methods should be changed to speed results or improve data gathering.

•          Advising the engineering team on improvements that can be made to Avantor products and any issues encountered during use of our products.

•          Advising management on workload issues and expected test duration.

•          Conducting tests and recording data for torque testing of tubing within peristaltic pumps

•          Conducting tests to determine attributes, performance and life of various types of pumps, drives, and other products

•          Conducting testing of units submitted for regulatory agency approvals such as IP or index of protection and assist in demonstrating conformance to test specifications.

•          Participating in the procurement, pricing, and documentation of tubing and tubing sets as necessary

•          Testing the amount of debris and spallation of tubing within a pump and tubing combination.

•          Creating training materials (videos and word documents) of pumps, drives, and tubing, and instructing customers and sales teams on how to operate pump systems and drives.

•          Recommending additional equipment

•          Assisting in troubleshooting pump system problems as necessary

You will:

•          Construct, test and troubleshoot pumps and tubing per instructions of a test/build request and as required determine test requirements based on previous testing.

•          Prepare and measure physical attributes of units for tests

•          Observe, record, and report all test data.

•          Assist in regulatory agency testing of products.

•          Resolve production pump issues.

•          Advise engineering team of problem issues and improvements that can be made.

•          Work in a 75% laboratory and manufacturing environment
