About the role

Position Overview

The Microsoft DLP Specialist plays a vital role in safeguarding the hospital’s information systems and sensitive data. Working under the guidance of higher-level security professionals, this role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft DLP policies across various platforms to prevent unauthorized data access and loss.

$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience

Education and Experience

Minimum Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in IT

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Purview DLP, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Compliance Center and other M365 security tool.
  • Fifteen credit hours in cybersecurity, information assurance or information technology.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (E.g., NIST, ISO 27001), healthcare security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH)
  • Proficiency in using vulnerability assessment tools, SIEM platforms, and other security technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and architectures.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex systems for weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent verbal written communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation and deliver effective training.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Purview Suite, including: Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection and Sensitivity Labels, Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery, Audit and Compliance.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud Apps and Defender for Identity.
  • Endpoint security and compliance management using Microsoft Intune, including deice policies, conditional access, and threat response.
  • Familiarity with API’s for automation and data extraction.
  • Experience with third party DLP solutions, in addition to Microsoft Security tools
  • Ability to analyze security events, logs, and alerts for DLP related incidents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain professionalism under pressure.

License and/or Certification

Preferred

  • At least one of the following certifications:
    • SC-400: Microsoft Information Protection Administrator
    • MS-500: Microsoft 365 Security Administration
    • SC-200: Microsoft Security Operations Analyst
