Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting role has significant responsibility in both public and management reporting, analysis of key financial accounts and issues.  It involves oversight of financial reporting by foreign holding companies, and performance of key financial projects.  Additionally, active participation in the consolidation process and reporting information to management, along with engagement in the annual planning process, is essential. 

This position involves overseeing the general accounting functions of the corporate entity.  Within the Corporate Finance department, the successful candidate will plan and direct accounting activities by executing the following duties directly or through supervision of others:

Principal Responsibilities

  • Supervise the monthly closing process for Corporate general ledger and certain Holding companies. 
    • Review and approve journal entries, maintain general ledgers, analyze account activity, and follow up on unusual items.
    • Prepare and submit monthly actual financial statements and supplemental information.
    • Review detailed account reconciliations.
  • Perform the following accounting functions for corporate entity and certain Holding companies:
    • Request revisions to SAP chart of accounts as needed. 
    • Prepare periodic forecast financial statements.
    • Prepare Annual Operating Plan.
    • Variance analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation / review of SEC filings.
  • Oversee administration of General Ledger Account Reconciliation software process for Americas.
  • Coordinate foreign entity reconciliations of US GAAP to statutory accounting.
  • Frequent interaction with financial personnel for all global business units.
  • Supervise processes vital to the Teleflex consolidation, including:
    • Monthly elimination of profit in inventory.
    • Preparation of certain consolidation entries.
    • Manage processes related to quarter end accruals reviews related to litigation, recalls, environmental projects, including reviews with upper management.
    • Supervise preparation and review of consolidated balance sheet fluctuation analysis.
  • Oversee and serve as a mentor to the Corporate Accounting staff. Provides guidance, mentoring, development and fosters a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment for the team.
  • Responsible for effectively managing the accounting service providers for the Delaware and Bermuda holding companies and the captive insurance company to ensure most beneficial outcomes for Teleflex.
  • Provide information as requested by the external and internal auditors.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting for all levels of management, including CFO and Corporate Controller.
  • Prepare special reports and analysis as requested.
  • Maintain accounting procedures to support control and protection of corporate assets and proper recording in books and records.
  • Perform documentation and assessments of corporate accounting functions relative to Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
  • Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems to ensure operational effectiveness.
     

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
