Job Summary:
Join our team as an IT Asset Management Specialist I and play a vital role in managing the lifecycle of information technology assets within the organization. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and optimize technology asset utilization across the company. As an IT Asset Management Specialist I, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to track, monitor, and manage IT assets from procurement to disposal, supporting the organization’s operational efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and accessories
  • Update and manage the configuration management database (CMDB) to reflect accurate asset information
  • Track the lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with IT asset management policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to establish and maintain asset tracking and reporting processes
  • Develop and implement asset tracking processes and workflows
  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement, licensing, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets
  • Monitor and analyze asset utilization and make recommendations for optimization
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to asset management
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding asset management procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in IT asset management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of IT asset management principles, tools, and processes
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and understanding of CMDB systems
  • Proficient in using asset management tools and software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately maintain records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR 4 years of equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in IT asset management or a related role preferred

Supervisory Requirements:

  • None

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment
  • All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance

Physical Requirements:

  • ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
