Principal Data Scientist (Seattle or US Remote)

About the Role:

You will work with the LifeCycle Marketing team to lead desired customer behavior throughout their lifecycle. You'll develop advanced analytical solutions to delve deeper into user behaviors, create customer segments and identify the best action to model desired customer behavior. You will also provide expertise in designing A/B tests and evaluating across all marketing channels and be an expert and mentor to analysts and marketers.

You Will:

• Conceptualize, design, and execute strategic initiatives impacting customer lifecycle (such as customer churn and activity) from start to finish, including project management, data collection and analysis and modeling, and the communication of insights
• Oversee appropriate statistical and predictive modeling concepts, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms to help improve customer targeting, reduce churn, and increase customer life-time-value.
• Provide insights to marketing and finance teams, designing and evaluating experiments to move recommendations forward based on company goals
• Build dashboards in partnership with analysts to communicate performance metrics across markets and channels
• Consult and present to executives and cross-functional teams to influence decisions across senior leaders from various functional areas
• Develop relationships and influence cross-functional areas to implement best practices and execute interdisciplinary initiatives
• Simultaneously and independently manage multiple strategic initiatives while ensuring deadlines are met and the desired business impact is achieved
• Recruit train, guide, and coach jr. and mid-level analytics team members with the ultimate objective of creating a best-in-class Data Science and Analytics Function at Remitly

You Have:

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Economics, or related fields.
• 8+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, time-series data, multivariate analysis, and causal inference.
• 8+ years of experience in statistical experimentation methods, such as A/B testing, experimental design, power analysis, and non-parametric statistics.
• 5+ years of experience in driving consumer analytics, developing at-scale solutions to drive desired user behavior, and identify the next best action for various customer segments
• Experience in SQL, statistical modeling platforms (Python, R), data modeling, machine learning algorithms, and other data science techniques.
• Experience managing analytics projects from creation to delivery, including developing structured solutions
• Experience with mentorship and technical leadership
