Qualifications
A Cook must meet the following qualifications:
- the ability to prepare food
- the ability to communicate effectively with school personnel, children, and parents.
- Servsafe training
The Cook is responsible for the following:
- Managing the food budget.
- Ensuring the safe handling and preparation of all foods.
- Preparing menus that include healthy lunches and snacks.
- Preparing breakfast, lunch, and snack per day for 185 children
- Ensuring that the menus are always in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintaining appropriate portion sizes.
- Ordering food and paper products.
