About The Team

The Crunchyroll Accounting Team is a global organization of nearly 50 professionals working together to support all of our critical business functions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policy and regulatory bodies. As part of the accounting leadership team, this individual is joining during a period of significant transformation and will have an opportunity to help build out an outstanding team and processes to help the company achieve our ambitious goals for global growth in both the near and long term!

About You:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
• Big 4 accounting firm (or similar) experience
• 5+ years of accounting experience (preferably in a SOX environment)
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Index Match, sumifs, pivot tables, etc)
• Strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills
• Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills
• Results-driven individual with a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to work with uncertainty, be flexible in order to build up a new process by communicating with related people
• CPA or CPA path highly preferred
• Accounting ERP experience (preferably Netsuite or similar)

A day in the life of our Content Accounting Manager:

• Oversee the team responsible for the financial integrity of the company's content commitments, assets (capitalization), liabilities (payments), and expenses (amortization).
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and provide support through the external audit
• Work closely with the contract management team and the financial compliance team to ensure timely and accurate maintenance of the content ledger..
• Oversee monthly and quarterly close journal entries appropriately accounting for all content assets and liabilities acquired in the period
• Perform quarterly content impairment analysis
• Oversee monthly and quarterly reporting. Perform detailed financial statement analysis, including discussions on various issues, analysis, preparation, and review of account reconciliations
• Analyze content agreements and transactions (e.g. licensing contracts, co-production deals, etc.), to interpret contractual terms and understand the application of our accounting policies.
• Identify and drive process improvements and own projects such as accounting policy review.
