Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:As a Surgical LPN in our dermatology practice, you will be trained in both general dermatology and Mohs surgery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Rooming patients and recording vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration)
- Conducting patient interviews and medical histories
- Preparing patients for exams, tests, and treatments, and explaining procedures
- Assisting with dermatologic procedures and minor surgeries
- Setting up equipment and preparing treatment rooms
- Collecting and processing lab specimens (e.g., blood, urine, sputum)
Specialized Role in Mohs Surgery:Mohs micrographic surgery is a precise, tissue-sparing technique used to treat skin cancer. As part of the Mohs team, you will:

- Administer local anesthesia under physician supervision
- Serve as the first surgical assistant during procedures
- Provide wound care, bandaging, and post-operative counseling
- Support patients throughout the surgical day—from pre-op to post-op—offering comfort, education, and reassurance
- Assist with reconstructive techniques including sutures, skin flaps, and grafts
Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of Practical Nursing
- Current Practical Nursing License in the state of Ohio
- Previous experience in dermatology or surgical settings is a plus, but not required—training will be provided
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids

Pay Range
