Position Details
Salary Range: $200,000+ annually. This is a full-time exempt position.
Work can be performed at various locations, including remotely or at the company offices in Utica and Rome, NY. For the right candidate, a 100% remote work arrangement is possible.

Responsibilities and Duties
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a consistent track record of contributing to the product strategy and roadmap for a complex machine learning problem space. The candidate will:
- Conduct creative and inquisitive research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities in the field of Machine Learning and Data Science
- Lead proposal writing for new opportunities with government R&D organizations and/or commercial companies.
- Be the internal champion of AI/ML to technical and non-technical partners
- Bring your technical expertise and project management skills to become the AI subject matter expert for small teams of researchers and engineers on advanced R&D projects funded by government and commercial customers.
- Develop and evaluate algorithms to understand the content multi-modal data, and/or perform reasoning on extracted data.
- Contribute to the growth of our portfolio by providing state-of-the-art vision across the board and ensure portfolio roadmap stays relevant and leading edge.
- Balance pragmatism and product intuition to achieve significant impact for a rapidly growing customer base at global scale
- Work closely with customers to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into our products
- Collaborate with external, well-known academic and industry researchers in Machine Learning, AI, computer vision, and natural language processing (NLP).
- Enjoy support and encouragement for participation in national AI/ML conferences and creating beneficial R&D relationships with other organizations.
Education and Certifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a PhD in computer science, machine learning, computer programming, software engineering, or a closely related technical field.
