The Opportunity
Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Specialist Supply Chain in our Santa Clara, CA location. This is an on-site position. The Sr. Specialist Supply Chain will be responsible for managing several key areas within Supply Chain including inventory control, supply chain projects, supplier management and Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) management. This role will work in coordination with planning, purchasing, reagent, instrument, warehouse and distribution centers to ensure excellent customer service. At this time no relocation and/or sponsorship is offered for this position.
What You’ll Work On
- Day to day management of Hematology TPMs (Third Party Manufacturing) and suppliers on active projects and communicate any shortage, performance concerns, backlogs or stockout inventory to Sr manager of supply chain and leadership team.
- First degree support to reagent team on day-to-day basis to deliver the projects.
- Drives inventory management for critical parts &/or TPMs and works closely with suppliers to maintain adequate inventory levels and prevent stockouts.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure a continuous supply of materials and minimize the risk of disruptions in Hematology operation.
- Support R&D with identifying potential suppliers, driving kick-off meetings and onboarding new suppliers.
- Evaluates existing supply chain process to identify areas that need optimization and implement the changes.
- Supports Sr manager of supply chain in developing and implementing a comprehensive supply chain strategy.
- Collaborates on establishing supply chain procedures, including inventory management, warehousing, automation, systems integration, and distribution.
- Prepare, summarizes, and presents data accuracy, delivery performance for all key suppliers and inventory related metrics to assess performance, modify production plan and assess/prioritize focused improvement efforts.
- Works in conjugation with cross-functional team including planning (Chicago) and distribution centers (Europe and Asia) to develop and publish inventory related metrics including forecast accuracy, stock levels and Abbott entity delivery performance.
- Collaborates with production planning and purchasing to ensure customer requirements are understood and to identify and remove obstacles that may prevent on time delivery.

- Provides support role for all projects involving production, procurement, and planning which includes: IT initiatives, process improvements, and lean projects.
