Position Type: Overnight Residential - Temporary Full-Time
Pay Rate: 350.00 weekly
About this opportunity:
Plans, coordinates and directs the functions of the Conservatory Guitar program; ensures the quality of programs and safety of youth at all times; provides guidance and role modeling to youth and ensures safety and a positive experience for campers.

Key responsibilities:
• Guides the work of music instruction in helping children and youth to succeed in school by increasing their involvement and motivation; and helping them to set personal goals.

• Provides training and development of camper for music instruction.

• Provides appropriate lessons for instruction time.

• Reviews assigned homework with students and re-teach skills if necessary.

• Prepares students for recitals and presentations.

• Supervises the maintenance and daily operations of the program equipment.

• Recommends and develops activities which will develop creative abilities, motor and learning skills of students.

• Coordinates the program and activity with the policies and operating procedures of camp.

• Maintains discipline and acceptable behaviors of students, which will create an atmosphere of friendliness and security during all program periods.

• Supervises and organizes an assigned group of campers during scheduled and unscheduled blocks of time in cooperation with camp rules and regulations.

• Promotes and stimulates participation of campers to ensure a pleasant camp experience.

• Participates and assists in various classes as assigned.

• Schedules performances and ensures that all necessary supplies for a performance are donated or purchased.

• Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights and other all-camp activities and camp functions.

• Sits with camper tables during meals and serve as a table monitor when needed.

• Keeps personal living quarters neat, clean and ready for inspection.

• Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Conservatory Director.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Perform as necessary ministry functions such as presenting approved devotional material to campers, praying with campers, or leading in Christian songs, etc
What we are looking for in you:
• Six months experience teaching music education with emphasis in guitar, with the ability to play and teach lessons in a classroom setting involving more than one student preferred, or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications
• CPR and First Aid Certification

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Some physical requirements of the Camp Guitar Instructor position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.

Additional Information:
