About this role
Kidde is searching for an experienced Product Validation Engineer to join our team who can execute and deliver precision testing of our fire and CO detection products. In this role, you will focus on the product testing, creation of testing protocols and requirements validation to ensure quality performance for our customers and agencies from around the world. You will also use your organizational skills to stay on schedule and help support product validation in Global Lab organization.
This is an onsite role for someone living near Bradenton, FL and will require 5-10% traveling in the US based on project priorities and needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Create complex test strategies for product validation test to ensure product compliance IACW industry regulations for life safety products.
- Review, test, and validate agency & engineering design requirements for each product to ensure compliance to agency standards.
- Document product requirements which lead to developing individual test cases in an organized manner for global lab organizations to track and monitor test progression.
- Assist in planning work breakdowns for assigned engineering technicians to accelerate product testing schedules to meet critical business milestones.
- Work with cross functional engineering teams to assist in complex route cause analysis to create reliable and industry leading life safety products.
- Understands how to read/interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to help understand test requirements.
- Interact with key critical customers to provide technical support, as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 5+ years of experience working as a lab/test engineer with consumer electronics
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in a related field
- Proficient using digital and analog testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Excellent self-task management/prioritization and documentation skills in a R&D or lab environment.
- Understands how to read and interpret schematics, installation sheets, and bill of materials.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with little to no supervision.
- Experience working on failure probability models and risk mitigation plans.
