three.js Developer (Freelance)

ngx is looking for a talented freelance developer specializing in three.js development to join our team on a contract basis. This is a remote position, restricted to Canadian residents.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately scope, build, and test website landing page
• Collaborate efficiently with project teams (some availability for meetings during Pacific Time working hours required)
• Think creatively about longevity of code, and updateability
• Plan for multi-browser, graceful degradation, and speed
• Deliver quality code on time

Desired Experience and Skills

• Custom GLSL shader knowledge
• Instancing and animating instance coordinates by hand/math (eg. grid of instances to rotating sphere of instances)
• Creative, not captive scroll, scroll-based animations.
• Creative interfacing with device data (Gyro/Accelerometer, mouse position, etc.)
• Several layers of graceful degradation to account for browsers with and without WebGL.
• 3D elements must be responsive to accommodate multiple browser sizes
• Some knowledge of 2D physics libraries
• Well organized code, utilizing objects or similar methodology when appropriate
• Well optimized code, page-load time a factor, may opt for progressive loading
• Willingness to work with a lead dev who will review code, give feedback, and help define architecture
