Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Football Operations & Video Services plays a strategic leadership role within Furman Football by overseeing all aspects of team video operations while supporting key areas of football operations and logistics. This position collaborates closely with the Director of Football Operations and coaching staff to ensure seamless technology integration, efficient daily operations, and team readiness. The role requires independent decision-making, discretion, technical expertise, and the ability to manage people and projects across multiple functional areas. Travel is required for all team competitions and select recruiting and operational activities.

Job Description:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Football Video Operations (Primary Area)

  • Direct all video services for Furman Football, including recording, editing, archiving, and distribution of practice and game footage using Catapult Thunder and Hudl.
  • Supervise the filming of all practices and games from multiple angles and oversee the importing, organizing, and quality control of all footage.
  • Lead the design and production of dynamic video and graphics content for internal, external, and recruiting purposes using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Serve as the lead liaison with Furman IT for technology maintenance and troubleshooting at the football complex.
  • Manage video infrastructure, film server storage, and all team film exchange processes with opponents and the Southern Conference.
  • Support the coaching staff and student-athletes with daily video access and film platform engagement.

Football Operations Support

  • Assist with all team travel logistics including hotel technology setup, video equipment preparation, meeting room configuration, and on-site AV troubleshooting for both home and away contests.
  • Support planning and execution of team training camps, community service events, recruiting visits, team banquet, and alumni engagement events in coordination with the DFO and other staff.
  • Serve as secondary liaison to key campus departments and vendors as needed to support operational needs.

Supervision and Personnel Management

  • Hire, train, and supervise student video assistants; establish expectations, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical training and support to coaches, staff, and student workers across multiple platforms and software systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in college athletics, preferably in football operations or video coordination.
  • Strong technical skills with film software (Catapult Thunder, Hudl, XO’s), creative software (Adobe Creative Suite), and general IT troubleshooting.
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator with demonstrated ability to manage projects and supervise personnel.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA Division I rules and Southern Conference regulations.
