Salary Range: $4,882 - $6,576
Starting salary for this position is: $4,882 (Monthly)
Employees hired at the entry step of this range receive salary step advancement after six months and every 12 months thereafter. An employee hired at anything higher than the entry step of the range will have salary step advancement after 12 months and every 12 months thereafter until they reach the top of the salary range. Each salary step advancement will be approximately a 5% increase.

Spokane Colleges is comprised of two accredited colleges, Spokane Community College (SCC) and Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) serving Spokane, Stevens, Whitman, Ferry, and Pend Oreille Counties, as well as portions of Lincoln County.
Both colleges are accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and governed by the Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges.

About the Sustainability Projects Specialist - Program Specialist 3
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Sustainability Projects Manager, the Sustainability Projects Specialist supports campus sustainability initiatives through research, solution development, project implementation, and training related to waste diversion, energy, and transportation programs.
The position monitors utility usage, maintains submeter data and sustainability reporting tools, assists with grant development, and supports ISO 50001 initiatives as a member of the campus Energy Team.
The Specialist also supports the coordination of energy and sustainability-related construction and repair projects by facilitating communication and scoping with campus stakeholders and design and construction teams, assisting with project documentation and reporting, conducting site observations, and maintaining project records.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting the project manager with sustainability Initiatives including research, proposed solutions, implementation, and end-user training. *
- Composting diversion programming, use reporting, and developing connections to student programs for experiential learning.
- Recycling program training, designing and providing signage, bin auditing and correction, performing cost savings calculations.
- Electric vehicle program monitoring of uptime and usage, communicating availability, and developing information campaigns and incentive programs.
- Assisting the project manager with identifying and developing program grants.
- Directly engaging with the campus communities to identify sustainability needs and opportunities. *
- Monitoring utility bills and campus submeters. *
- Maintaining monthly log of natural gas and electricity submeter data.
- Completing monthly keying of utility bills.
- Identifying issues and suggesting changes to Power BI dashboards.
- Serving as Sustainability Program Trainer and active participant on the Spokane Colleges Energy Team. *
- Taking notes during energy meetings.
- Training staff & faculty on energy program initiatives.
- Conducting in-person training sessions with groups of teachers to drive sustainability goals.
- Conducting in-person training sessions with students on specified cadence.
- Collecting feedback from surveys on sustainability efforts on campus.
- Providing ISO 50001 material development and meeting coordination.
- Assist the Sustainability Project Manager with coordinating and documenting Energy Service Performance Contracting (ESPC) projects and other sustainability and energy-related initiatives. Responsibilities include: *
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to support sustainability and facilities repair project implementation.
- Coordinating and participating in project meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, and facilities staff.
- Conducting site observations and field inspections related to sustainability initiatives, energy systems reviews, and facilities
