Wide Field of View Design Engineer Intern

The Space Systems Solutions Division, within the Leidos Aerospace Systems Business Area, currently has an opportunity for a Mechanical or Aerospace Design Engineer Summer Intern to work at our Huntsville, AL Dynetics campus providing support to the Wide Field of View (WFOV) program. This is a dynamic opportunity in which talented interns can thrive working alongside junior and senior engineers on a diverse array of multidisciplinary projects in the space systems arena.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support engineering design and integration activities for aspects of WFOV systems.

• Develop conceptual CAD models and produce engineering drawings (if needed).

• Develop design for hardware, tooling, or test equipment as needed by the program

• Work collaboratively with project team(s) to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and products across a broad range of applications.

• Support project team(s) across multiple disciplines with the completion of document deliverables.

Basic Qualifications

• Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

• Applicant must be actively working toward a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited college or university.

• Applicant must be a US Citizen.

• Applicant must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above.

• Ability to perform physical work such as lifting up to 30-lbs.

• Knowledge of and ability to use common hand tools.

• Applicant must be willing to work in-office in Huntsville, AL.

• Experience with SolidWorks CAD software

Preferred Qualifications

• Desire to solve complex technical problems and learn from a team of experienced engineers

Pay Range:

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
