About the role

Job Summary:

The Store Design & Merchandising Manager is responsible for creating maximum visual impact for our brands at points of sale and ensuring the application of in store retail execution across LATAM. This person will be in control of store design, CAPEX & OPEX budget tracking, and Visual Merchandising within the retail environment.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

Store Design & Project Management

  • Be responsible for the store design process: from design creation and vendor negotiation to project management, installation and follow up
  • Work with individual brand holders to ensure brand guidelines are implemented to the utmost standards, and are respected by retailers & distributor teams
  • Partner with distributor teams to leverage their local vendor negotiations.  Where necessary or cost efficient, act as a project manager in outsourcing design renders or other similar tasks
  • Create and maintain a distribution database to track distribution & support regular updates of counters  
  • Make recommendations of current counter upgrades accordingly to budget and brand priorities

 

Financial Accountability:

Budget Tracking & Vendor Negotiation

  • Prepare & Track CAPEX & OPEX budgets for all store design & merchandising elements that fall under Shiseido Group’s scope (note: some costs are paid by distributor)
  • Negotiate merchandising agreements in conjunction with Sales Managers, LATAM Distributors and Marketing Director
  • Negotiate costs related to store design (renders, materials & material alternatives, installation etc.)

  • Marketing Brand Managers
  • Sales & Finance Departments
  • Distributor Teams in local markets
  • Vendors & Local Design Teams
  • Operations Team

 

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience in cosmetics/beauty industry will have an advantage
  • Detail oriented with a strong eye for design within a retail environment
  • Experience managing multiple brands / multiple projects at once  
  • Ability to track and follow up with multiple budgets (per brand / market)
  • Good sense of marketing and commercial awareness
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, establish and maintain effective working relations with colleagues.
  • Pro-active, mature, independent and ability to prioritize
  • Strong command of oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
