Rehabilitation Aide - Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation and Outpatient Rehabilitation - Days  - Cornell Campus

 

NewYork-Presbyterian is dedicated to the highest level of rehabilitation care. Among our many world-class services we provide outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, which helps patients achieve functional independence so they can effectively re-integrate within the community. This requires the support of professionals from many different healthcare disciplines and specialties.

 

As a Rehabilitation Aide, take part in the continuum of patient care in our dynamic acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings.  Under the supervision of a rehabilitation therapist, assist with the care of patients of all ages and diagnoses in all settings including several ICUs and our Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Duties will also include maintaining therapy areas by obtaining rehabilitation equipment, maintaining inventory of supplies and restocking linen and medical supplies. Providing transportation of patients to our rehabilitation gym may be part of the daily duties. Candidates for this position should have excellent customer service skills and be comfortable interacting with patients in the acute care and ICU settings.  

 

This is a full-time position on the day shift, working Tuesday – Saturday with hours from 8:30am - 4:30pm.   

 

Preferred Criteria 

• Six months hospital experience 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

 

Required Criteria 

• High School Diploma or GED 

• Knowledge of policies and procedures of Rehabilitation Medicine Department 

• Demonstrated interest in working with Rehabilitation Medicine patients
