About the role
Description
The Staff Accountant is responsible for weekly timecard tracking and monitoring, weekly payroll processing, and weekly accounts payable processing. This role will also assist in month-end reporting and tax filings, benefit reconciliations and vendor management. This position will also help with general ledger entries, state and local tax filings, and basic financial analysis. - Prepare and process weekly and multi-state payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
- Audit and ensure all timecards are complete and approved.
- Resolves payroll errors.
- Prepares reports relating to payroll and timecards, including OT, hours worked, etc.
- Work closely with Human Capital team on leaves, garnishments, and benefits.
- Audit payroll details and provide guidance on areas of improvement.
- Assist with daily entries and reconciliations for the general ledger.
- Support the management of accounts related to medical receivables, capital assets, and payroll.
- Participate in month-end closing processes by compiling data and assisting in the preparation of financial reports.
- Assist in analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with clinical and finance teams.
- Support the Accounts Payable team by reviewing vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in processing payments and reconciling vendor statements.
- Help resolve discrepancies in accounts payable under supervision.
- Assist in the preparation of basic state and local tax filings, including sales and use taxes.
- Ensure timely submission of filings and maintain organized tax records.
- Support the team during audits and help gather required documentation.
- Provide basic support during mergers and acquisitions, including assisting with financial due diligence tasks.
- Help integrate financial data from acquired companies into existing accounting systems.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, and payroll or combined education and experience.
