Job Description

X-energy is seeking experienced energy professionals to join our Cyber Security team in the role of Lead, Plant Cyber Security in support of our TRISO-X fuel fabrication facility in Oak Ridge, TN. This position provides management support to the group that is responsible for performing plant cyber security engineering, analysis, design, and drafting across all projects and programs. This includes directing the work of individual contributors on the team, supporting the management of resource and organizational needs of the engineering team, and assisting with the analysis of systems, structures, and components for various advanced reactor technologies. Lead will be assigned primary responsibility in one of the following areas, with secondary responsibility to provide support to the others:
o Governance and Regulatory Compliance
o Cyber Security Operations
o Cyber Security Systems


 

Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of the cyber security design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program / project requirements.
  • Supports with the management of the utilization of engineering resources across multiple projects and ensures qualified engineers are performing assigned work.
  • Lead design cycle sprints and provide direction to ensure the convergence of efforts of engineering team members, partners, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering work products are on schedule and within budget as defined by the Project leadership.
  • May manage cyber security engineering staff by ensuring staff are meeting expectations and promoting staff professional development.
  • Influences and supports the development of strategy, methodology and technical tools for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and policy formulation.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services.
  • Uses judgement to support with making decisions and handling complex tasks or problems in areas of operations, product management, technology, or engineering.
  • Assesses quality of information given and asks pertinent questions to stakeholders.
  • Perform work in accordance with design control procedures, ensuring thorough documentation of work, facilitation of internal and external design reviews, and control of product design configuration data.
  • Review codes and standards and identify requirements and functions of the cyber security systems.
  • Evaluate vendor cyber security plans and concepts.
  • Interface with company IT and customer IT organizations.
  • Prepare cyber security specifications for stand-alone control systems that have any connection with the DCS or the internet.
  • Prepare documentation for the implementation and performance of cyber security programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited program.
  • Coursework or experience focusing on cyber security related to control systems and industrial equipment.
  • Typically, seven plus years of professional experience in cyber security engineering after completion of undergraduate study. Graduate degrees typically count as two plus years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Federal requirements for cyber security for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).
  • Knowledge of IEEE and IEC standards related to cyber security in embedded system and co
