About the role

Duties will include: assisting physicians and nursing staff in the care of patients; assisting in performing ancillary testing/services for patients; assisting with the monitoring of patient flow; assisting with patient exams; obtaining vital signs; reviewing charts prior to delivering care; providing clear patient education and instructions; administering medications properly; assisting with daily/weekly clinical duties (room stocking, cleaning, etc.); assisting in creating and filing medical records; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements Qualified applicants will possess: H.S. diploma or equivalent (GED); completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program and CMA certification is required; 2-3 years medical assisting and medical office experience; ability to perform all medical assisting responsibilities under state and faculty guidelines; strong patient assessment skills; and excellent communication skills; CPR certification is required.

Essential Functions

  • Follows established guidelines to obtain necessary testing based on the chief complaint prior to the
    exam. Prepares patient for examination by the health care provider
  • Performs routine office testing, including but not limited to; phlebotomy, sweat and hydration tests,
    urinalysis, vision testing, hearing screening, pulmonary function testing, temperature, pulse and
    blood pressure
  • Gathers and documents brief history and chief complaint in the medical record
