Summary
The incumbents will provide the enforcement patrol component in support of major programs for fish, game, wildlife, ecosystem, and boating safety regulations for the protection and sustainability of wildlife/fisheries resources and public safety; and, to serve as a parish coordinator for enforcement operational/patrol within an assigned district or statewide specialized enforcement unit.

Examples of duties
Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been as a Wildlife Enforcement Senior Agent or higher rank in state service:Four years of experience in wildlife conservation law enforcement.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
Possession of a current driver's license.
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified by the hiring agency until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
NOTE:
This job has special physical requirements in that the incumbent must lift heavy objects (50 lbs. or more), walk long distances, work in harsh weather conditions, fire handguns, rifles, and shotguns accurately and have the ability to operate vehicles, boats, and all-terrain vehicles while in the performance of duties.

Job Duties:- Patrols public/private land and waters.
- Provides general police protection for citizens and visitors who utilize Louisiana's lands, waterways, and wildlife/fish resources.
- Identifies and apprehends suspected violators.
- Conducts law enforcement patrols designed to impact natural resource conservation, protection and management objectives, and to provide public safety services to include DWI on waterway, careless operation, reckless operation, etc.
- Coordinates the removal of injured persons and vessels involved in crashes or other incidents.
- Coordinates enforcement activities within an assigned parish or work unit with lower level Wildlife Enforcement Agents.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This is a promotional opportunity, open only to current permanent, classified employees of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries/Enforcement Division.
Location: There are 8 vacancies. These positions will be domiciled in the Enforcement Division in Jackson Parish, Morehouse Parish, Natchitoches Parish, St. Martin Parish, Jefferson Davis Parish, Acadia Parish, Cameron Parish, and St. Mary Parish.
A Driver's License is required.Shift Differential: This position is eligible for a shift differential in addition to the base hourly rate when scheduled to work designated evening, night, weekend, or other qualifying shifts. The applicable differential is subject to LDWF's current compensation policies.
Overtime as necessary.
