Job Description

Are you an analytical, detailed, results oriented and driven accounting professional looking to bring those qualities and strong accounting experience to an industry leader?  If you answered yes, joining Precoat Metals as a Staff Accountant is the role for you. While  collaborating with other members of the finance & 14 plant teams, you will assists with P&L and balance sheet ownership responsibilities.  You will perform all month end close duties in accordance with GAAP, contribute to the forecasting and budgeting process, help administer all business compliance and proactively drive process improvement. Responsibilities will include:

•    Prepare month end close journal entries in accordance with GAAP, including financial statement preparation, regulatory and general ledger compliance and balance sheet reconciliations
•    Facilitate and assist Finance with monthly forecasting and annual and long term planning and budgeting
•    Prepare scrap reconciliations & facilitate corresponding customer service
•    Assist with management of fixed asset & capital expenditure administration and reporting
•    Facilitate & assist Finance with standardization/best practice efforts and continuous improvement initiatives
•    Assist with the management of accounting & data integrity process improvement initiatives
•    Conduct physical inventories &help facilitate year end audit with external auditors
•    Prepare sales & use, personal property and real estate tax filings in addition to assisting with corresponding regulatory audits
•    Track and research unauthorized deductions and partner with Accounts Receivable on credit compliance
 

Qualifications

Along with your Bachelors in Accounting/Finance and 3+ years of accounting experience, you should have the following: 

• Excellent knowledge of GAAP
• Superior work ethic and discipline
• Independently motivated
• Strategic mindset
• Superior attention to detail
• Experience in or ready for a fast paced, operations & manufacturing environment
• Strong Excel and MS Office application skillset
• Ability to travel up to 10%
