DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a <strong>DevOps Engineer</strong> to join our team supporting a DOJ component. This role focuses on administering and supporting COTS applications, with an emphasis on the Atlassian suite and automation/scripting to extend tool functionality. This is a remote opportunity and<strong> requires an active Secret security clearance.</strong><br />

<strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong>
<ul>
<li>Specialize in the administration and management of COTS applications.</li>
<li>Conduct Section 508 compliance testing for new features and modifications with COTS application and plugin upgrades.</li>
<li>Create and maintain technical documentation, including FISMA-related documentation for obtaining and maintaining ATO.</li>
<li>Provide user support and reference guides for troubleshooting and application usage.</li>
<li>Possess intermediary-level expertise in PostgreSQL for querying and updating application databases.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot, maintain, and provide operational support for COTS tools.</li>
<li>Configure and administer Atlassian Data Center products (e.g., Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket).</li>
<li>Customize Jira workflows, permissions, and custom fields, and implement plugins across the Atlassian suite.</li>
<li>Automate and extend Jira and Confluence functionalities using scripting languages like Groovy, Python, or equivalent.</li>
<li>Design and implement enterprise standards for Atlassian instances, ensuring consistency across project structures, issue types, workflows, and integrations.</li>
<li>Provide team specific training as needed.</li>

<strong>Qualifications:</strong>

<ul>
<li>Active Secret Security Clearance (required)</li>
<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field</li>
<li>A minimum of 7 years of DevOps or systems engineering experience, with focus on COTS applications and Atlassian suite administration</li>
<li>Proficient in automation/scripting using languages like Groovy, Python, or equivalent</li>
<li>Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.</li>
<li>Knowledge of PostgreSQL for querying and managing application databases</li>
<li>Must be able to work well under pressure, possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have excellent organizational skills. </li>
