The Ponds and Pools Supervisor assists the Facilities Manager with oversight of Pool/Spa activities and staff. Assists with scheduling staff, planning daily work activities, and monitoring the work being done. The Pool Supervisor must understand the practices, techniques and technologies required in the work s/he is performing or monitoring and possess the ability to interact well with guests to ensure a positive guest experience.


The Ponds and Pools Supervisor is responsible to oversee the pool area, make safety announcements and maintain an inventory of all poolside equipment to be available for guest use at all times.


The ability to lead and teach others is both essential and fundamental to this position.


This employee may be assigned to lead a team of 3-5 members safely and productively, with the goal of completing tasks with a high degree of quality and efficiency.


This is a physical working supervisor position. A significant portion of time will be spent moving about the Spa and Pool area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that pools and pool areas are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition, in accordance with health regulations.
  • Report unusual conditions and situations which may endanger mechanical functions or operations of the Resort to Guest Services Manager.
  • Working knowledge of pool operations – chemical testing, pool setup, pump operations, safety.
  • Understanding of filtration requirements.
  • Understanding of state of NM pool rules and regulations.
  • Chemical balancing experience required
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary pool environment
  • Keeper of all pool records
  • Maintain a regular maintenance schedule of filters, chemical testing, ozone and UV filtration
  • Maintain water levels and drain/clean/fill schedules
  • Supervise and train other staff for all pool duties
  • Maintain pool hours
  • Evaluate and train staff
  • Assist subordinates in performing duties
  • Prepare reports, accident report preparation, maintain health records
  • Oversee Lab samples and testing.
  • Prepare and oversee work schedules
  • Responsible for employee and guest safety
  • Maintains staff discipline

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of resort or hotel experience a plus, including supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent skills and experience).
  • The Pool Supervisor position requires the ability to direct others as tasked.
  • Must be accessible to and approachable with residents/guests.
  • Ability to work respectfully and productively with all staff, maintaining a high degree of professionalism and camaraderie, at all times.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multiple language fluency is desirable.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner. CPR Certified.
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Punctuality, dependability, and flexibility are critical.
