Job Description:
In this role, you will lead the Business Operations Centre of Excellence (COE), reporting to the Head of Corporate & Investment Banking Business Management. Your primary responsibility will be to create and optimize a seamless operations function for the department. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leaders in Corporate & Investment Banking, group business managers, and various corporate functions within TDS and TDBG to deliver process efficiency across operational and administrative areas.
Key Accountabilities:
Cross Functional Operational Management to develop and coordinate the flow of synergies between front office and back-office management functions to promote transparency, reduce redundancy and optimize performance across the CIB:
- Deliver a consistent employee and client experience across Corporate and Investment Banking, by partnering with Enterprise functions and building efficient processes
- Partner with TDS Client Onboarding teams to ensure an efficient and clearly articulated client onboarding experience for CIB front-office teams
- Design, implement and execute a global employee onboarding and offboarding process for the business, working closely with the CIB Colleague COE and HR to ensure a both a positive employee experience and effective management of offboarding risks
- Own the CIB Business Operating Procedures from updates to communication of changes
- Actively manage business efficiency programs – i.e. EvalueServe, Uber for Business
- Enable the business to function in a dynamic travel environment while adhering to internal policies
- Provide ongoing change management and thought leadership across all operational processes to ensure continued effectiveness
- Represent CIB on TD/TDS working groups including real estate projects across all offices where CIB has a footprint, new Travel booking or Business Visa tools
- Build and deliver dashboard reporting on the Operational Health KPIs of the Business; escalate issues on a timely basis
Operational Risk Management to promote and measure adherence to both internal and external business practices, laws and standards to mitigate operational risk:
- Identify and address operational risk events working closely with Operational Risk Management to ensure appropriate preventative measures are taken
- Manage the Business Continuity Management Program for CIB across all locations & business groups
- Take accountability of all business resilience programs
Through leadership of your globally distributed team, you will:
- Deliver a centralized model for access control management including LAN and Diamond attestation processes as well as access to high-risk URLs
- Partner closely with Group Business Managers and Executive Assistants to address operational issues as they arise including but not limited to business travel, business visas, facilities, technology/hardware requests among others
- Maintain floor plans/seating maps and optimize use of space
- Coordinate general office management services
Specific Accreditation:
- 10-15 years of experience in capital markets and project management/business operations
- Undergraduate Degree, MBA, Project Management Designation preferred
Other Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong understanding of Corporate and Investment banking and the 'banker mindset'
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through an ability to relationship build and work as part of a collaborative team
- An ability to communicate simply, directly, succinctly
