Description
Degree/Education:Degree/Education. Registered Nurses shall have an Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). A copy of the college transcript and diploma shall be submitted.
Certifications: All HCW(s) shall maintain current certification in a basic provider cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course through American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS). Web-based classes do not meet the MTF standards. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider- Advanced; and STABLE, to be renewed every two years as required. Contract nurse employees may attend MAMC BLS and NRP recertification if space is available and at the discretion of the department COR. Attendance is in a non-billable status only.
• Experience: At least two (2) years of qualifying experience in the specialty is required.
• Board Certification: None
• Licensure: Shall have and maintain a current, valid, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) in any U.S. jurisdiction within the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin Islands as required in the TO. All licenses must be unencumbered and remain in effect during contract employment. The contractor shall provide the COR prime source verification of the nursing license, documentation shall include state, license number, expiration date, me1hod of verification and names of verifying official.
SPECIALITY REQUIREMENTS:
• All personnel performing under this contract action shall remain employees of the Contractor, but shall perform services under the technical supervision of the Chief of the Department or their Government representative. Neither military (active or reserve) nor Government civilian personnel shall be employed to perform services under this contract action. The MTF Commander, Deputy Director for Nursing, and Chief of Inpatient Service Line reserve the right to refuse the services of contract staff based on the lack of certification, credentials, licensure, or background checks.

A thorough knowledge of electronic fetal/uterine monitoring (placement, maintenance and interpretation) is required.
Job Responsibilities.
Contract nurses providing services under this contract shall perform the same clinical duties as those required of any military or government civil service nurse of similar experience assigned to the same unit. Contract personnel may be designated by MAMC Department of Nursing Service personnel to provide charge nurse responsibilities, team lead, provide orientation, and other activities as deemed appropriate. All nurses may be rotated throughout MAMC’s clinical areas however they will not be required to work outside their scope of practice.
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness. Perform critical care duties to include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-specific nursing care across all ages.
• Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
• Perform physical exam and health histories.
• Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
• Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
• Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.
• Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
• Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
