Job Description Summary:

This position provides general nursing care to patients and families along the health illness continuum in diverse health care settings while collaborating with the health care team. He/She is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing.

We are a 15 bed Medical/Surgical Unit specializing in the post operative care of Gastric Bypass Surgery patients. We are located on 6 Orange and all of our patient rooms are private with specialized equipment to care for our specific patient population. Our Leadership team consists of an Administrative Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator, two Day Shift Clinical Leaders, and two Night Shift Clinical Leaders. During the day, our typical staffing is 1 Clinical Lead, 3 Nurses, 2 Patient Support Assistants and 1 Unit Service Coordinator. At night, our typical staffing is 1 Clinical Lead, 2 Nurses, and 2 Patient Support Assistants. On average, our Gastric Bypass Surgery patients stay 1 or 2 nights.
