What you will be doing

We are seeking a motivated Pharmacy Intern to join our dynamic team at Mercy Pharmacy in Darby, PA on the campus of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.  As a pharmacy intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to our patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a hospital retail environment while contributing to patient wellness.

Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
• Process medication orders and prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Maintain inventory control and stock medications as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
• Answer phone calls and assist with patient inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities provided by the hospital.

What your background should look like 

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program.
• Basic understanding of pharmacy laws, regulations, and terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Customer service experience preferred but not required.
