In order to complete our Analytics Service Line department, we are currently looking for Senior Data Steward

The role 
Data stewards play a crucial role in the data governance efforts, upholding data integrity throughout the operations and processes in Nestle. They are the primary driver in ensuring that the data remains usable by default. To achieve this, data stewards proactively manage the product lifecycle specific to their domains. They also collaborate with various business domains to maintain the utility and accuracy of data in line with the requirements of data consumers. By prioritizing data stewardship, Nestlé reinforces its approach to data product management and the continuous improvement of the most critical data assets. 

 

A data steward is typically an individual from either a business or technical background who has a deep knowledge and understanding of data within their related data domain and works closely with the source of data, such as customers. They operate within a multi-disciplinary team tasked with applying FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable), to the domain data products. By doing so, they have collective accountability and control over the quality of the data produced for their domains. Data stewards will continuously align their data products to data consumer demands and approved standards and policies, maximizing data sharing and repurposing of data across Nestlé.  

 

A day in the life of... 

  • Working alongside the Technical teams to curate the data assets in accordance with metadata standards and requirements.  
  • Maintain Data Dictionary (to be created) including the Data Lineage information, in partnership with the different product owners or other systems utilizing Data. 
  • Improve Data Quality (DQ) control (add report on DQ trend, automate Pipeline monitoring) 
  • Take example of the Nestlé Data Quality Index (DQI) 
  • Ensure newly data element created follow Data Governance Framework
  • Provide enhancement requirements and feedback towards existing data catalog features.  
  • Ensure daily review of the Data Quality reporting (dashboards, database data, etc.) 
  • Introduce new business data quality rules to be reported by the DQE (Data Quality Engine)
  • Control their implementation and integration in the DQ dashboard 
  • Maintain the DQE Business Rules documentation 
  • Work closely with the Data owners to cascade the Data Governance Framework 
  • Promote/enforce standardization, naming conventions, consistency across markets and/or systems 
  • Report to data source product owners any data issues via Jira and follow up their prioritization and resolution (management of weekly data issue meeting with product owners and data team) 
  • Perform QA on new or change of functionality on meta-data, reference data whenever needed 
  • Responsible for coordinating data curation and data quality by design while developing the data delivery and analytical pipelines for Nestlé  Data Management Platforms.  
  • Implement Data Profiling results in DQE reporting 
  • Assist in maintaining the product into Data Catalog community 
  • Deliver end user/data steward training as and when required, to the user community.

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration).
  • 5-7 years’ experience managing and/or implementing a Data Governance frameworks or responsibilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and in databases like Microsoft SQL Server, MYSQL, Snowflake
