Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Program Management Specialist to join our dynamic team in El, Segundo CA.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Mid-Level, Experienced or Senior Project Management Specialist

The selected candidate will be expected to lead others and direct all phases of assigned cross-organizational projects demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards).

The selected candidate will be responsible for oversight, and management responsibility (including performance management and reporting) for a portfolio of small to medium size projects in support of the organizational goals and objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cost, schedule, technical, and risk management for high reliability electronic unit hardware development and delivery.

  • Develops and maintain Earned Value baselines, Estimates at Completion, and status & variance to plan.

  • Defines required resources from space electronics engineering, operations, and supplier management to build cross functional unit level teams necessary to execute electronic units design, development, and delivery to programs.

  • Coordinates with programs and capabilities to optimize unit hardware production pipelines and deliveries.

  • Develops and maintain statement of work (SOW) for units procured by subcontract and coordinate related make/buy assessments.

  • Performs unit sell-offs, project close-out, and document lessons learned for incorporation into future project plans and unit hardware roadmaps.

  • Identifies key stakeholder objectives and requirements.

  • Ensures assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.

  • Provides in-depth analysis of projects culminating with lessons learned as well as projected and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans.

  • Provides assessment of team and team member performance to appropriate management.

  • Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/ SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Experience managing projects and utilizing standard project management tools

  • 3+ years' experience in a leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion

  • 3+ years’ experience in a production environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years' experience working with high reliability electronics

  • Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) using EVM (earned value management)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP/PMI) Certification

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Education & Experience:

Mid-level (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Experienced (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work
