Job Description

Duties:

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain highly performant web applications on Invesco’s stack (Angular, React, SASS, Java Spring Boot, etc.).
• Design and implement REST APIs to industry/company standards.
• Work with our amazing product design team to develop and iterate on user interfaces that bring simplicity to complicated financial data.
• Interact with engineering members across the organization to ensure consistency in engineering practices and foster active exchange of ideas.
• Perform peer code reviews. Review performance, security and flexibility of the code.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., daily standup, release and sprint planning, demos, scrum of scrums).

Requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, IT or related technical field

• Must have 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering or development positions performing/utilizing the following:
  • Performing analysis, design, development, and implementation of Web Applications and Client/Server Applications with an emphasis on Object Oriented Programming Concepts.
  • Software development in Java
  • JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence
  • Working in an Agile development environment
  • Back-end frameworks including Spring IOC, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, and Hibernate.
  • Designing and developing RESTFUL Web Services and Microservices
  • Design patterns, including singleton, session facade, business delegate,
  • Software engineering support systems and build tools including Git, Jenkins, Maven and Log4j
  • DAO, DTO, MVC

• Must have 2 years of experience with:
  • Databases: MySQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Front-end JavaScript based frameworks, including Angular, React, Redux
  • Web Servers: Apache Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss
     
• Position may be eligible to work hybrid/remotely but is based out of and reports to Invesco offices in Houston, TX.  Must be available to travel to Houston, TX regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
