Job Description:

Data Center cooling is a strategically important, fast-growing business area for Castrol. With our advanced direct liquid to chip and immersion cooling fluid technologies, we aim to transform the industry by driving the adoption of liquid cooling as a pathway to sustainable data center operations.

As the Technical Service Engineering Manager within the Castrol Data Center Fluids team, you will play a key role by applying your technical expertise to shape and deliver innovative thermal management solutions for the data center market. This role is critical to developing technically differentiated offers that enable Castrol’s strategic growth in liquid cooling and advanced thermal solutions. You will work closely with Offer and Business Development, OEM Management, and Technology teams, as well as with customers and ecosystem partners, to identify, evaluate, and validate cutting-edge thermal technologies. You will support the technical development of new offers, guiding them from early-stage concept through to market introduction and initial scaling, ensuring each solution meets both technical standards and customer requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Liquid Cooling Expertise

Serve as the internal and external champion for liquid cooling technologies, acting as a domain expert and advocate across the organization and partner network.

Knowledge Transfer

Design and deliver structured training programs for internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to ensure consistent and accurate understanding of Castrol’s liquid cooling solutions.

Offer Development & Technical Enablement

Lead technical workstreams from idea generation through to offer launch (e.g. sensors). Support rapid testing and agile development cycles. Contribute insights and ideas based on technological advancements and evolving customer needs.

Customer and partner insight loop

Establish feedback loops with key customers, suppliers, and partners to gather insights, identify pain points, and inform continuous improvement of our liquid cooling offer.

Technical Documentation & Protocols

Develop and manage product-related technical documentation, including protocols, specifications, and externally shareable materials (e.g., product liability/warranty, technical datasheets).

Commercial Acumen & Strategic Support

Apply technical insights in support of profitable, scalable growth. Help align technical offerings with long-term business and market objectives while continuously building and applying your own commercial foresight.

Post-Sales support:

  • Advanced application support to maintain excellent fluid performance.
  • Resolves technical problems regarding fluid product performance in order to protect the company against unfounded litigation.
  • Actively assist business development teams in resolving technical issues from the use of products in a timely manner to ensure the company reputation for quality is reinforced, visiting customers to resolve problems when required.
  • Support technical knowledge empowerment to internal and external partners through helping with the technical training to sales teams, customers and distributors related to product deployment and implementation.
  • Responsible for the ownership of the technical service offer and implement the Ethics & Code of Conduct, HSSE policies and system (training, safety audit for CMS) that are introduced, and ensure that the subordinate understands such policies and enforces them.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Degree level or equivalent professional qualifications / experience in science or engineering and possess a depth of relevant experience gained from working on relevant IT technologies. You should have a natural curiosity and desire to explore new possibilities.

Experience

  • Thrive in operating at the interfaces of chemistry, electrical engineering, IT, fluid dynamics and mechanical engineering to develop optimal environmental performance for data center operations by creating and exploiting unique technologies.
