Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Manager to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Starline Team. This is a remote position. The Senior Product Manager will develop and drive high impact growth initiatives designed to grow sales within our Starline product lines for datacenter, industrial, and manufacturing applications. This position will develop a multiyear strategy designed to achieve growth goals and position the company as a market leader globally.
What Will You Do?
- Directs product development initiatives, product changes and product promotions including development procedures, specifying components, product positioning, pricing, catalog, and training aides.
- Establish new business opportunities, including identification and development of markets and determining required sales channels.
- Oversees product development, strategy, and lifecycle management; lead cross-functional teams, define product roadmaps, and prioritize features, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. This role involves understanding market trends, conducting research, and collaborating with various departments to bring successful products to market.
- Works closely with members of Engineering, Sales, Sales Support and Operations to deliver a market-leading product and to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals and execute product initiatives.
- Manage and communicate sales information and product changes both internally and externally, as well as product management goals and objectives across all company functional groups as necessary to maximize effectiveness and synergies.
- Drive product vision and be responsible for its success across initial concept, scope, specification, prioritization, design, and implementation.
- Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality or reduce costs.
- Develop metrics to measure success of product features, analyze results, and partner across the organization to develop action plans and enhancement recommendations.
- Research competitive sites and stay up to date with the latest content marketing and social platform trends.
- Develop and lead implementation of marketing and product strategies.
- Produce, maintain and update annual forecast.
- Develop and maintain product database with product specifications, artwork and catalog copy for advertising and catalogs programs.
- Serve as key product management contact for activities and protocol related to overall Starline product offerings.
- Adhere to and promote the company’s values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a leader and supports the continued growth of the company.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field, MBA preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical power systems, operating practices, and design philosophies.
- 10 years of combined experience in technical marketing, product management and product development initiatives required.
- Experience or familiarity with wiremold, raceway or busway products for electrical power distribution systems.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully launch new products in a dynamic marketplace.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment, leading teams without direct authority.
- Knowledge of basic electrical and technical background preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills required.
- Attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines is essential.
- Strong Communication skills are a must to be able to move projects through cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinker: detail and results-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
