About the role
We are looking for a strong medical writer with copywriting skills & experience, who can apply excitement and flair to their communications, and join us in working on a broad range of commercially-oriented medical projects.
Our clients’ work covers a spectrum of scientific and promotional claims, so you need to have depth and breadth of scientific understanding, alongside your writing expertise, for a range of audiences and within multiple media. You need to have comfort in interpreting scientific data and vision for its application in crafting effective, easily digestible narratives and content blended with creative story telling. You will need to be familiar with leveraging brand and communication strategies within medical communications content.
Bringing this range of skills to the table, you will help us produce scientifically and medically sound, strategic, bold, and persuasive messages that feed into a broader, overarching strategic approach for a range of clients and therapy areas. Experience and interest across oncology, as well as neurology, hepatitis C, and immunology is also preferred.
At Avalere Health, you will ensure all work is medically accurate and creatively on point, whilst delivering on time and within budget. What you'll do
- Lead both medical writing & medical copywriting projects for promotional medical communications & high science commercial marketing deliverables – developing promotional or scientific copy for use across multiple media.
- Partner with creative directors on conceptual themes/campaign creatives as needed.
- Provide a point of contact with clients, proactively driving conversations and leading on content strategy.
- Ensure on-brand messaging and accurate content that aligns with the overall strategy.
- Collaborate with art directors, production, and digital/motion teams on projects; work with senior writers to develop scientific content across your portfolio of writing projects.
- Deliver presentations to creative and medical teams whenever needed.
- Reference and annotate all work, in accordance with client review procedures.
About you
- Your background could be medical communications, or healthcare advertising/marketing. We are looking for 3+ years of experience in either sector.
- You will have worked on a range of medical communications projects – which could include congress work, creative and copy design and co-creation of content. You will be used to producing print and digital tactics such as sales aids, brochures, eblasts, digital banners, websites & presentation decks.
