Each effect has the potential to reach TikTok’s global community of a billion+ users and inspire new trends, lots of joy, and endless creativity. Our mission is to inspire user creativity with powerful creation tools. Loki Platform manages the lifecycle of all effects, from creation to consumption. We are seeking talented individuals who enjoy the intersection of product, data, design, and engineering to help us reach the next milestone of billions of users.

We encounter diverse technical challenges, from data consistency, system stability, and scalability to customized effect distribution strategy. You'll be joining a backend team that can leverage all of TikTok's existing frameworks and be a part of designing and implementing new techniques and foundation work that can further improve user experience and showcase TikTok's value proposition.

As a Tech Lead Manager, you will:
• Lead and grow a team of 5-15 engineers to build a solid foundation for product development.
• Lead and develop large-scale software systems that power billions of TikTok effect.
• Lead and improve system design and architecture to ensure high stability, performance, and reliability of the product.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as partners to deliver high-quality work in rapid product development.

Qualifications

Qualifications
• Experienced in building platforms and services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.
• Experienced in partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver successful products.
• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, Java, C++.
• Have good team communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent majors with 5 years of experience.
• 3 years of experience leading an engineering team.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $224000 - $410000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
