Overview
The Senior Program Manager (Sr. PgM) applies program management principles to lead and coordinate a collection of related projects within a defined market vertical. This role is accountable for ensuring that all program components are strategically aligned, integrated, and managed in a way that delivers cohesive benefits and achieves the objectives of both the program and NV5. The Sr. PgM oversees multiple concurrent projects and provides leadership, guidance, and support throughout each project’s lifecycle to ensure they collectively contribute to the program’s success. Acting as the central point of alignment, the Sr. PgM works closely with Project Managers (PMs) to maintain visibility across interdependencies, optimize resource utilization, mitigate risks, and ensure that individual project outcomes advance overall program goals. In partnership with the Practice Leads, Directors, and Sales, the Sr. PgM helps develop, implement, and refine tools, systems, and processes that enhance operational efficiency and performance across the program. This includes driving consistency, enabling effective governance, and ensuring that program and project key performance indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities
Supervision & Oversight
- Directly manages Project Managers (PMs), providing ongoing support, coaching, and guidance.
- Maintains project management responsibilities for select projects.
- Facilitates weekly meetings with team leads, PMs, and the leadership group.
- Actively tracks and forecasts program needs, costs, and revenue.
- Collaborates with estimators, business development, and technical leads during pipeline reviews to identify training needs, scheduling considerations, resourcing requirements, and software/hardware demands.
Program Performance Reporting
- Measures and reports on overall program performance.
- Audience: Leadership team, Director, and General Manager
- Purpose: Inform business decisions and provide recommendations on priorities
- Content: Issues, schedule status, budget performance, cost analysis, and revenue forecasting
Business Development Collaboration
- Maintains a coordinated feedback loop with Business Development.
- Conducts account‑manager check‑ins and regularly to review the sales pipeline
- Assesses overall program health
- Recommends estimation adjustments based on team capabilities and industry trends
- Tracks proposal trends and provides actionable feedback to the sales team
- Identifies opportunities for upselling based on client needs and emerging trends
- Maintains the standard product matrix for the program
Process Improvement & Initiative Implementation
- Coordinates implementation of initiatives and process improvements across all projects within the program.
- Partners with domain experts to integrate outputs from process improvement initiatives into standard SOPs for continuous improvement.
Subcontractor Management
- Collect feedback on vendor performance related to scope and schedule.
- Facilitates feedback sessions with key vendors to better align NV5 expectations with vendor capabilities.
Cross‑Office Coordination
- Actively collaborates with other NV5 offices.
- Identifies product variations and drives consistency to increase flexibility in assigning production tasks
