JOB OPPORTUNITY:  Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement Leader

 

The QSCI Leader will communicate, train & manage the successful and consistent implementation and accreditation of the Celeros FT Quality Management Systems [QMS] as well as drive the action points for improvement created because of the audits. This role will also work with the Head of Quality, the Quality team and peer groups to drive to support the company Quality strategy.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • To lead and manage all external and internal quality audit schedules including but not exhaustive to API, ISO, PED, ASME & NQA-1 ensuring that peer functions are also ready and prepared.
  • Conduct training of the QMS with all stakeholders in a systematic program such that each function is trained at least annually. Use training sessions to improve and enhance ineffective processes with specific functions.
  • To maintain all external quality accreditations and use the action points to drive improvements in the QMS.
  • To drive continuous improvement in the Quality KPI’s including First Pass Yield [FPY], Cost of Poor Quality [COPQ], Customer On Time Delivery [COTD], calibration and Inventory.
  • Support and drive peer groups to complete audit action points
  • Ensure that Quality Plans fully capture customer specifications and code requirements.
  • Help execute identifiable actions associated with annual quality plan that will positively impact on Quality performance, e.g. COPQ and COTD, customer complaints.
  • Manage the A3/CAPA/CAR process to prevent recurrence associated with recurring problems.
  • Oversee the training & competency needs of the team to ensure they are fully compliant.
  • Support all ad hoc Quality projects as directed by the Head of Quality
  • Compile the Quality KPI’s.

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement techniques.

  • A self-starter who is solutions-driven and has the ability to produce results.
  • Analytical reasoning and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, including high-level communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
  • ISO 9001 or API Q1 quality system experience.
  • Manufacturing Operation experience.
  • Significant experience in quality, preferably in the valve manufacturing, nuclear power or Oil and Gas sectors.
  • Significant experience in ensuring compliance with National and International standards such as listed above.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the Quality aspects of complex contractor and subcontractor-supplier relationships nationally and internationally.
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of analyzing the business and to optimise standards.
  • Influential and provides constructive challenge which is accepted by others.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possession of a recognized Quality qualification and accreditation preferred.
  • Demonstration of managing quality improvement programs successfully is essential.
  • Good knowledge of the US nuclear site licensing conditions (ASME) and the nuclear baseline philosophy is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.
  • Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
