Summary
Milgard Windows and Doors is a leading window and door manufacturing company committed to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Trainer to join our team in Prescott, AZ. This role is essential in developing our workforce through effective training programs and supporting the onboarding process to enhance employee retention.
Bilingual ability is required.
The Plant Trainer is responsible for providing new hire training and job-specific training to existing employees within the plant. This role involves conducting standard work audits, job instruction training, and remedial training. The Plant Trainer plays a key role in developing new hires and existing employees, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Hourly compensation range is between $22.00 to $32.00, depending on experience. You will work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with the availability to stay as late as 7pm.
Responsibilities
- Train new hires in general training related to Milgard Company and Product Knowledge, as well as Continuous Improvement tools.
- Train plant new hires on Milgard product, processes, quality, and safe product handling using the Job Instruction Training (JIT) process.
- Train existing employees on job-specific processes and procedures.
- Demonstrate procedures being taught to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Provide one-on-one and group training sessions.
- Coordinate training materials and participate in updates as necessary.
- Conduct standard work updates and provide corrective feedback to employees, leads, and supervisors when required.
- Update work instructions based on input from department leaders.
- Train new and existing Area Leads, conduct regular audits of the JI process, and maintain training records.
- Reflect Milgard business values and the Milgard Philosophy in all business transactions.
- Manage and maintain in-house Lab training facilities and equipment.
- Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement activities as required.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, leads, and employees.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in custom manufacturing and warehouse processes.
- Training experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of excellent customer service.
- Bilingual ability is required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, leads, and employees.
- Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
