What you’ll do

As the Sr. Director of Talent Development & Engagement, you will lead the team responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of talent development and engagement initiatives across our entire organization. This role oversees a unique blend of corporate learning & development as well as manufacturing training.  The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of L&D principles, coupled with hands-on experience in designing and implementing training programs specific to manufacturing environments.

  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of production training. Ensure training initiatives support operational excellence, safety standards, and product quality.
  • Lead the design and implementation of corporate-wide L&D programs, including leadership development, soft skills training, and compliance training. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify skill gaps and develop learning solutions to address them.
  • Partner with organizational leadership to integrate performance management processes into training programs. Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and their impact on operational performance.
  • Develop strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention. Implement initiatives to foster a positive work culture, promote teamwork, and recognize employee contributions.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within talent development and engagement strategies. Partner with other HR leaders to develop initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive workforce, including trainings, diversity recruitment strategies, and fostering a culture of belonging.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications highly valued.
  • 15+ years of experience in talent development, learning and development, or related HR functions, with a focus on both corporate L&D and manufacturing training.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful talent development and training programs in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, excellent writing skills are paramount.
