RESPONSIBILITIES: This position reports to the Program Manager. The Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Counselor. This position will review treatment plans and letters sent to referral and collaborative entities such as DCFS Department of Children and Family Services, Probation and Parole. Will monitor the development of treatment plans and discharges to insure timeliness and compliant with funding source. The Lead Counselor will be responsible to report issues the counselors are experiencing. This position will carry a caseload and will develop client treatment plan, provide individual, family, and crisis intervention counseling. Facilitate specialized group sessions, establish, and maintain clients’ records. Schedule individual and group sessions with clients on caseload to monitor progress, and document client status. Lead Counselor will maintain internal logs and submit monthly statistical data to Program Manager.
Prepare progress and discharge/termination letters for social workers and the court system. Lead Counselor will conduct social and recreational activities with clients and serve as a guide to self-sufficiency and a lifestyle free of substance use. Lead Counselor will be responsible for a client’s total interface with system of services. Will perform other duties as assigned by Program Manager.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Must possess strong documentation skills and can counsel on substance abuse and related issues. Must be motivated and possess the ability to project a responsible attitude to clients. Good communication skills and verbalization of works a requisite. Computer background and bilingual skills (English/Spanish) highly desired. If a recovering addict, a minimum of five (5) years drug free are mandatory.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California driver's license. Must submit to and pass a drug test and criminal background clearance as a pre-condition to employment. Must be able to provide COVID-19 Vaccine, Booster and TB Test. BLS/CPR Certification required.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and must possess Counselors Certified Certificate and no less than five (5) year experience in substance abuse counseling or related field including client assessment, development of treatment plan, monitoring, and evaluation.
