We are seeking a skilled Automated QA Engineer for a fully remote opportunity in Romania.The project is in the pharma industry, looking to build an AI powered search plus a chatbot option (for content /documents).The scope of the role is to design, develop, and maintain automated test suites across frontend, backend, and integration layers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks and tools, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable digital solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites across frontend, backend, and integration layers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, QA, and product managers) to understand requirements, create automation strategies, and integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipelines
• Identify and prioritize test cases for automation based on risk, complexity, and frequency of use
• Execute automated tests, analyze test results, and report defects using defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar
• Continuously monitor and optimize automated test scripts to reduce execution time and improve coverage
• Perform code reviews for automation scripts and provide feedback to ensure adherence to best practices and standards
• Stay current with the latest automation tools, trends, and techniques, and advocate for the adoption of new tools or practices that could improve the testing process

Requirements

• Automation Frameworks – Strong experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
• Frontend Automation – Hands-on testing React.js applications (React TestingLibrary, Jest)
• Backend/API Automation – Proficient in API testing with Postman, PyTest, or REST-assured (REST/GraphQL validation)
• Programming/Scripting – Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for building test scripts
• Database Testing – SQL skills for backend validation and data integrity checks
• CI/CD Integration – Embedding automated tests in pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Version Control – Proficient with Git workflows (branching, merging, PRs)
• Agile Collaboration – Experience working in Agile/Scrum, with Jira or similar tools
• Containerization/Cloud Awareness – Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure (nice to have)
• AI/ML Testing – Exposure to validating AI-driven components (e.g., test script generation) (nice to have)
