Manager, Software Engineering (Hybrid - 1-2 days a week onsite in Irvine, HQ)

Empower and lead software engineering teams to efficiently produce high-quality software using agile methodologies, while fostering an owner's mindset. The impact you'll make:
- Manage and motivate team to accomplish significant deliverables within tight deadlines
- Take ownership of significant features, driving them from development to production
- Partner with peers within Engineering, Product, Development, and TechOps to drive technical excellence
- Collaborate closely with management of other teams including Revenue, Operations, and PeopleOps
- Lead teams of polyglot Senior-level engineers, while coaching more junior-level developers
- Communicate development issues, team challenges, and overall productivity of teams with executive leadership
- Deliver performance reviews for your team members and set up performance goals
- Influence quality and productivity improvements through involvement in the development of new and improved procedures, process innovations, training, and changes in corporate culture
- Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence in a rapid pace environment
- Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to promote collaboration within teams
- Ability to take a leadership role in an agile Scrum-like environment
- Experience working with and leading remote based teams
- Strong ability to support and mentor team members to accomplish team goals
What you've accomplished:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or work experience
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ software development experience at startup / mid-sized companies (startup experience preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership / management experience (startup experience preferred)
- Effective and persuasive communication skills at all levels of management, both written and verbal
- Experience working collaboratively at a high level with other teams within an organization
- Extensive and varied web development and web architecture experience
- Fluency using Git and GitHub in a large team environment
- Familiarity with full stack technologies and concerns
- Have worked with Atlassian products, such as JIRA, Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps, etc.
Bonus Points
- Experience with a polyglot environment (Ruby, Elixir, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
- Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Meteor, etc.)
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, etc.)
The base pay range for this position is $173,000.00 to $194,000.00 per year
