We provide evidenced-based, comprehensive instructional and curriculum support to educators and school systems leaders in over 40 states across the country.
UnboundEd empowers educators to transform teaching and learning. We work with classroom teachers, school leaders and district executives to ensure engaging, affirming and meaningful grade-level instruction, so that we eliminate the predictability of student outcomes by race and socioeconomic status. We focus on the needs of students of color and those who have historically been at the margins, because when we do that, all students benefit.
ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (OERA), the Vice President, OERA Partnerships & Sales is responsible for orchestrating and nurturing strategic relationships with key accounts, partners, and stakeholders. This role drives the establishment of long-lasting connections, negotiates partnerships, and leverages senior-level relationships to enhance sales opportunities. The incumbent will also contribute to the development of sales strategies and action plans while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
UnboundEd is a virtual organization and this employee can be based anywhere in the United States. UnboundEd has core business hours where we expect all staff to be available from 9 am to 5 pm local time and up to 50% travel is required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Partnership Strategy and Relationship Management: Develop and execute comprehensive partnership strategies to enhance the organization's market presence and revenue streams
- Build and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships with lawmakers and local government agencies to gain insights into legal requirements and upcoming Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Collaborate with local government representatives to advocate for the inclusion of verbiage related to the organization's offerings (SoR and MLs) in upcoming RFPs
- Stay abreast of evolving market demands for educational technology (edtech), School of Record (SoR), and Managed Learning Services (MLs), and communicate these changes to the marketing and sales teams
- Act as a conduit between the partnership team and marketing/sales teams to ensure alignment with market dynamics
- Personally initiate contact with key accounts, potential partners and stakeholders to establish and maintain impactful business relationships
- Lead the management of strategic partnerships, ensuring they align with the organization's goals and objectives
- Identify and explore partnership opportunities, drafting partnership proposals and engaging in negotiations to establish mutually beneficial terms
- Analyze the effectiveness of partnerships, identifying areas for growth optimization and improvement
- Attend conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities to connect with key partners, stakeholders and decision-makers
Manage the Strategic Partnerships department: including planning, budgeting, and goal setting
- Recruit, mentor, train, motivate, incentivize and facilitate the career growth of the strategic partnership team
- Serve as a regular point of contact for relationship development, troubleshooting and addressing inquiries
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including policy, legal, communications, marketing, product, finance and sales to align partnership initiatives with company-wide strategies
- Manage and maintain a robust advisory board, leveraging their expertise and insights to inform strategic partnership decisions
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate degree (EDD or PhD) from an accredited college or university and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in an educational leadership role, including five or more (5+) years of engagement with educational institutions at the department and state levels with a focus on educational equity emphasizing the use of ed tech products, Multilingual Learners and Science of Reading.
