11The Role: S&P is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer as a key player and to the implementation and support of its re-balancing platform. This role will involve the implementation of re-balancing calculations and rules using python programming language and cloud services. The candidate should actively evaluate new products and technologies to build solutions that can streamline business operations. The candidate must be a delivery-focused person with an agile development mindset. This is a technical lead role with some supervisory responsibilities. This is primarily a backend programming skill set in Python, but you must also have a working knowledge of cloud-based deployment and user interface architecture.
The Team: You will be part of an amazingly talented Agile technology team in a global organization comprising of DEV/QA/PO teams. As a senior developer and technical lead in this team, you will improve the platform's overall framework and help maintain code quality standards. You will work with internal stakeholders on user stories and support integrations to other S&P internal systems. The team builds and maintains primarily REST APIs on AWS but also does full stack development with a sophisticated, modern user interface application.
The Impact: The re-balancing platform is a key system that is used to build and maintain financial market indices which drive the world’s economy. You will be working on one of the key systems that is responsible for calculating re-balancing weights and asset selections for S&P indices. Ultimately, the output of this team is used to maintain some of the most recognized and important investable assets globally.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $150.000 to $170.000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities:
Design and development of Python applications deployed to AWS cloud services.
Interface with UI application(s) and diagnose issues.
Coding, Documentation, Testing, Debugging & level 2 support.
Taking ownership of code modules and leading code review processes.
Work directly with stakeholders to formalize/document requirements for both supporting existing application as well as new initiatives.
Perform Application & System Performance tuning and troubleshoot performance issues.
Integrate in-house applications with various vendor software platforms and other in-house systems
Reduce IT efforts by developing automated tests.
Effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Define and refine task definition, delegate tasks to team, and conduct code reviews / pull requests.
Basic Qualifications
10 years of IT experience in application development and support.
Strong Experience with Object Oriented programming primarily in Python but also in other languages.
Backend services development including distributed libraries and packages in Python.
Experience with AWS and cloud services including SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes (Jenkins, GitHub actions, etc.).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Quantitative Finance is required, or in lieu, a demo
