Job Title: Paint Technician (Franklin, TN)
The Lasko Paint Technician’s responsibilities include the proper preparation and monitoring of the electrostatic paint system. You will play a key role in ensuring that fans are properly painted prior to entering the Assembly process. You will work with the Press/Paint Supervisor to coordinate paint changeovers, paint quality, and rework of rejected materials. Duties will include preparing paint for production, adjusting paint viscosity and chemical levels, troubleshooting spray equipment, performing color changeovers, and reworking rejects back into the process.
This is a hands-on plant floor position located in Franklin, TN.
Essential Functions
- Prepare electrostatic paint for fan body production, adjusting viscosity as needed.
- Adjust water chemical levels as needed to ensure proper quality of paint.
- Adjust electrostatic paint system equipment as needed for optimum efficiency and quality of output.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance of electrostatic paint equipment.
- Ensure constant readiness of paint oven climate conditions.
- Clean and maintain paint booths properly to prevent equipment deterioration.
- Properly maintain washer, tanks, and oil skimmers to meet area housekeeping standards.
- Rework rejected materials (improperly painted fan bodies) and re-paint as needed.
- Work directly with Press/Paint Supervisor on duty to coordinate paint color changes as needed.
- Must be able to communicate with supervisor to report any issues regarding paint quality or equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies and Abilities
- Ability to think proactively and properly follow instructions.
- Ability to operate programmable equipment.
- Ability to use hand sanders and basic tools.
- Must be able to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Must be able to move 50-gallon barrels of paint with the use of a drum dolly.
Required/Desired Education and Experience
- High School Diploma

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly working near spray paint booths and hot ovens.

Manufacturing environment exposed to paint, heat, dust, odors, and noise.
